Tilly!
Grades K-3rd
Found this one while perusing the internet. Our friend, Mary Keesling, let me borrow a turtle puppet that worked perfectly. I then laminated the turtle and put him on the board in every classroom so the kids could have a visual and the teacher could just give a nod and ask "Telling or tattling?"...which I can't find the picture of right now, but I'll post it as soon as I do.
Tilly's Poem
You
tattle on your classmates that is what you like to do,
It's
right to tell a grown up if there's something very wrong,
But tattling is different, you are doing it all day long,
But tattling is different, you are doing it all day long,
If
someone hurts your feelings then you have a right to tell,
When someone's causing danger it is right to tell as well.
When someone's causing danger it is right to tell as well.
But
tattling on others which will make them really sad,
Is not at all a good idea, it's really kind of bad.
Is not at all a good idea, it's really kind of bad.
Oh
Tilly, little Tilly, you most certainly will find,
That many kids will like you when you 're acting kind
That many kids will like you when you 're acting kind
