Conversation Starters

These worksheets are so helpful in a small group. Starting out with one of these fill in the bubble worksheets is a relaxed way of brainstorming how to begin a conversation. Following this up with role plays will reenforce the skill. Taking the conversation further with a compliment, sharing a toy you may have, telling a joke etc will help as well. In one instance, I planned a social skills group to back up to recess so that the kids will be ready to put these skills into play and I would be there for a bit as moral support.
